Architecture and cultural experiences shaped by place.
Studio Basel welcomes architecture, museum and exhibition commissions in Oman. Our approach brings together the design of buildings, the stories they hold and the experience of the people who visit them.
Our architectural experience in Muscat includes the Embassy of the State of Palestine. Alongside that work, our international museum practice brings strategy, curatorial development, interpretation and exhibition design to cultural projects.

Selected Oman project
Embassy of the State of Palestine, Muscat
Designed by Basel Almisshal, the embassy complex brings together a chancery and ambassador’s residence on an 8,000 m² site in Muscat’s Diplomatic Quarter. Studio Basel’s scope includes architecture and interiors.
The programme combines diplomatic functions with community and cultural spaces, including a library, art gallery and auditorium seating more than 180 people. Palestinian and Omani architectural references inform the design, with Omani marble, Jerusalem stone and landscape elements carrying the identity of place into the project.
The project received the five-star Best Public Service Architecture, Oman distinction at the Arabian Property Awards 2013–2014.

Museum consulting services →Exhibition design and interpretation
Permanent and travelling exhibitions, gallery layouts, display systems, scenography, lighting, interpretive graphics, wayfinding and immersive media. Arabic and English interpretation can be planned together with the institution’s curatorial and content teams.
