Cultural understanding. Design clarity.

Places with a purpose.
Stories with a future.

From a new architectural commission to a museum master plan or exhibition, we begin with the people, place and purpose behind the project. Site, climate, cultural identity, collections and audience needs inform the design from the outset.

Our work in Oman includes the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Muscat. Our wider team brings experience across the Middle East, Europe and North America, with expertise spanning architecture, project delivery, curatorial practice and visitor experience.

We welcome commissions in Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the wider Gulf, collaborating with client-appointed local architects, engineers, specialists and delivery teams according to each project’s requirements. Studio Basel is based in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Working together

Planning a project in the Middle East.

What types of projects can Studio Basel support?

Architectural and interior design, master planning, museums, visitor centres, cultural destinations, permanent and temporary exhibitions, mosques and community spaces. We also provide identity, photography, visualization and project communication services.

Can architecture and exhibition design form one commission?

Yes. We can develop the spatial brief, visitor journey, architecture, interiors, exhibition design and interpretation together, or contribute a defined scope to a larger project team.

How do you collaborate with local teams?

We agree responsibilities, design stages, local coordination and specialist input at the outset. Local statutory submissions, engineering and delivery responsibilities are coordinated with the appointed project team within the agreed scope.

Can you develop Arabic and English interpretation?

Our museum practice supports bilingual content and graphic systems. Language requirements, cultural review, translation responsibilities and institutional approvals are established with the client’s curatorial and content teams.

What should we share to start a conversation?

The location, project type, site or gallery size, current stage, audience, languages, anticipated programme, budget framework and the support required. Existing briefs, drawings and collection information help us propose an appropriate scope.
