With over 20 years of experience spanning Europe, the Middle East, and North America, Basel Almisshal brings a wealth of knowledge and a diverse perspective to his designs. His extensive international exposure and unique experiences have enriched his understanding of various architectural styles, cultural nuances, and regional preferences, allowing him to hone his ability to create spaces that resonate with diverse audiences.

Helmi HABIL

Helmi Habil is a certified architect and Project Management Professional with over 23 years of international experience providing leadership, oversight, and management of project cost, quality, and schedule. 

Helmi has extensive experience delivering design, construction, and operational solutions for various stakeholders of large-scale projects including museums, rail and transit, TOD, healthcare, high-rise, hospitality, retail, residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments with world-renowned designers, contractors, and clients in North America and the GCC region. Helmi offers unparalleled leadership in the management of multidiscipline design teams throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning through the development of construction documents, and construction administration. 

Helmi's expertise includes leading the architectural construction administration of the Museum of Islamic Art in Qatar, a masterpiece project designed by the late IM Pei in the capital city of Doha.

lINA ALI

CURATOR & MARKETING DIRECTOR

Lina Ali is an award-winning exhibition director and cultural curator with a passion for art and world cultures.

She is a Harvard Museums Studies Masters graduate specializing in museum management, exhibition conceptualization, and DEAI consulting.

Lina has trained at the Smithsonian Center for Folklore and Cultural Heritage, the Harvard Semitic Museum, and the Harvard Putnam Gallery. She is a board member at two culture museums and an interim executive director. Her research focuses on the historic diversity efforts of the Philadelphia Barnes Foundation and AAM’s Facing Change initiative for advancing diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion in museums. She holds a Certificate in Arts Marketing from the German Goethe Institute, and a BSc in business from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.

Reem Akkad, LEED AP, is an 11-time award-winning interior designer renowned for her creativity and attention to detail. Reem holds a BA in Interior Architecture from Damascus University's Fine Arts School and a Master's in Interior Design from Michigan State University. Her extensive global background has profoundly shaped her unique design philosophy. With over 18 years of expertise in the design industry, Reem meticulously crafts projects with a global aesthetic that honors cultural heritage and personal identity. Reem's firm belief in integrating heritage and personal narrative into design leads to spaces that authentically mirror occupants and provide unparalleled user experiences. 

Reem’s portfolio spans diverse projects from prestigious institutions like Beaumont Hospital, the University of Michigan, and Miftaah Institute. Most recently, Reem had the honor of designing the inaugural Eid Event at the residence of Vice President Kamala Harris. Reem Akkad is dedicated to transcending conventional design boundaries, embracing diversity, and crafting spaces that resonate with the past, present, and future.

Tamer Kamel is a distinguished civil engineer with nearly two decades of professional experience specializing in structural design. Throughout his engineering career spanning 19 years, he has been at the forefront of structural project management with several renowned international construction consulting firms. Kamel's expertise lies in strategic land development, infrastructure planning, the design of commercial and residential high-rises, and expansive corporate complexes. 

As a senior project manager Kamel has lead efforts of planning, design, and construction review of numerous mega projects. His professional approach to structural design, coupled with his relentless attention to detail, ensures that every project under his guidance is both functionally sound and aesthetically appealing.

Alli Matlesky is a Harvard Museums Studies Masters graduate specializing in museum management, exhibition development, curating, and storytelling. 

Alli has a passion for facilitating community connections to cultural collections through access, programs, and meaningful partnerships. She facilitates love of knowledge, art, and culture by highlighting shared connections between the visitor and and the stories being shared in museums.

Her expertise in the museum field allows us to design exhibitions and museum spaces with first-hand industry knowledge and expertise.

Alli has worked at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. in museum donor stewardship and engagement. She holds a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Harvard, and earned undergraduate degrees with honors in International Studies and Environmental Studies from American University in Washington.
